Founded in 1993 by professional swim coaches Gary Nolden and Dr. Shauna Devine, Ph.D, Olympian Swimming has continued to produce excellence in and out of the pool for 30 years. Shauna Devine, fully certified NCCP level three swim coach, with three level four/five components completed, was head coach of Torch from 1995-2000. She produced swimmers at the provincial, national and international level including placing swimmers on the world cup tour, world championships and Jr. Pan Pacs where she was also named as coach. She also coached at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney Australia. Under its second head coach Gary Nolden from 2002-13, TORCH contributed to the development as age groupers of future Olympians Penny Oleksiak and Joshua Liendo. Gary has served as CEO of Olympian Swimming since its founding in 1993. Our motto is simple–to provide the best possible swimming experiences in the pool and to ensure that through excellence in programming and coaching our athletes reach their full potential in the sport of swimming. While many of our athletes choose the competitive route, just as many finish their lifesaving courses and choose to work for us once they’ve moved through our blue, orange and green programs! We’re pleased to have numerous former Olympian swimmers now as members of our amazing coaching team–we pride ourselves on the quality of our coaches, efficaciousness of our programming, and the family atmosphere that is truly Olympian Swimming!!.
